Chicago Bacon Fest 2008

This is the first time I’ve seen the word “fest” and the word “Bacon” put together. I can’t wait until the next time this happens — and I hope it also includes the name of the city I live in, something like “Denver Bacon Fest.”

As it is, Chicago gets the Bacon Fest and all I get is to write about it. Risque Cafe, a Lakeview / Wrigleyville joint, celebrates the addition of this super-deluxe bacon-bacon-bacon item to their menu: “six slices of battered & deep-fat-fried country style bacon w/ white bacon gravy dipping sauce.”

Sure, you might be thinking, “this post is useless without pics.” Yes, I want photos too. More than that, I want those six slices of deep-fat-fried heart attack. Even more than that I want what Risque has planned for this Sunday (October 12, 2008): “Four bottles of Absolut, all of them infused with three-month aged bacon, maple syrup, and black peppercorn.”

Check out Risque Chicago’s web site here (they don’t have this new bacon goodness up there yet, for some strange reason).

Here’s a link to the Google Map of Risque Chicago.
